I am a freelance writer and photographer based in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, with eclectic interests ranging from current events and politics to religion to cooking to mountain hiking to woodworking to bicycling. An Episcopalian, I try to steal a little time each week to help keep up my parish's historic old church building. Family is the center of the world for me, the solid island in the sea of storms. My most valued time is alone, especially walking along a mountain trail, drinking in the beauty of God's world, feeling, and thinking.
